This was my second year doing pictures for this awesome event, and each year it seems to get better. You can read about the 2015 event here.
The proceeds from the event are split 50/50- half to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and half towards the Karen Friedman Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to a deserving student interested in pursuing a career in teaching or cancer research.
So many great people came out to help!
There were some returning sponsors this year as well as new!
This sweet catcher’s gear was donated by All-Star Sporting Goods….
Harmony Bats donated these beautiful custom bats that were raffled off at the end of the camp.
My personal favorite was the pink glove by Gloveworks that was raffled off… I was a LITTLE sad I didn’t win…haha. But look how happy he is! They also donated a custom glove to a lucky raffle winner- you can see the finished product on Friedman Baseball Instruction’s FB.
One of the best parts of the camp is seeing the kids being rewarded for their hard work. Each year, one camper is picked by the coaches and players that helped throughout the day to receive a special prize for going above and beyond. This year, it was a $250 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
It’s really neat to be just a small part of something that helps so many people. I hope I get to continue for years to come.
